The ASP FAQ is an informational site that operates without advertising and without disseminating any of the information we may purposely or inadvertently collect.
The *aggregate* data we knowingly track is as follows:
- click data (to track the most popular FAQs)
- search data (to discover potential new FAQs)
- user agent data (to tailor site functionality)
We also allow you to volunteer your e-mail address when submitting feedback. This is not required, but can aid in communication if you would like a direct response. Primarily because we are lazy, we may retain this data indefinitely; however, it will be strictly for our own use (unless otherwise required by law).
We do not review or collect IP addresses, nor do we correlate any of the items mentioned above. We also don't use cookies or session variables, aside from the default sessionID cookie issued by IIS 5.0 when you first visit our site.
We provide many links to external web sites. We are not responsible, and should not be held accountable, for the privacy practices of those web sites.
Here is our first stab at a P3P Policy and P3P Policy Reference File, which your browser should deal with automatically. We're still learning this P3P stuff (why does the W3C always have to make seemingly simple tasks so damned technical?).

This site is here for readers of Microsoft's newsgroups, relating to Active Server Pages and SQL Server. We provide a quick-responding web server, with many answers to Frequently Asked Questions about building (database-driven) web sites using Microsoft technologies. Within some of our FAQs and articles, we provide links to 3rd parties (for example, specific freeware, shareware and commercial COM objects for use with ASP). We have no financial or professional ties with these vendors, and as such, do not take responsibility for consequences of using their products. We are only providing links as informational, usually in response to the question "How do I do [x] in ASP?"
